Fletcher Wayland Thompson

June 28, 1921 — January 30, 2008

Fletcher W. Thompson, 86, of Vidor died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, TX. A native of Atlanta, TX., he has lived in Vidor since 1960, and was a retired paint inspector with Unocal Corp. He was a member of the Vidor Masonic Lodge #1286 for 50+ years, he proudly served his country in the US Army, and retired after 40 years of faithful service, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor. Graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. He was preceded in death by his wife Imogene Lavera Thompson, parents James and Mallie Thompson, and his brother John J. Thompson. He is survived by his son James W. Thompson of Vidor, daughters Bertha 'Nell' Garrett of Lumberton, Betty Jean Baker of Lehi, UT., Vera L. Jolly and Elizabeth Welborn both of Vidor, sister Mary Nell Clayton of Atlanta, TX., twenty-five grandchildren, and fifty-two great grandchildren.
