Ethel Louise Smith

Ethel Louise Wright Smith, 84, died Friday, October 16th, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor who enjoyed going camping, reading, doing crossword puzzles and making a home for her family but she especially loved to spend quality, loving time with her grandsons. Ethel is survived by 2 sons, James Smith, Jr. and wife Becky, Gary Smith and wife Karon, 2 grandsons, James Smith III and wife Susan and Justin Smith and wife Jennifer all of Vidor. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Jacob and Annabelle Smith and a brother, James Wright of Cheek, TX. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63, James "J.D." Smith, Sr., 3 sisters and 6 brothers. A rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 with visitation to follow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment at Restlawn Memorial Park. Those serving as pallbearers are: Oliver Smith, Justin Smith, James Smith III, Brandon Wright, Blane Wright, and Trenton Wright. Honorary pallbearer is: James Wright.
