Scott Eaves, 82, of Vidor died Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Gist, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Scott was a Heavy Equipment Operator and was self-employed. He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8246 and the Vidor Optimist Club. Scott was an avid hunter and faithfully served his country in the US Army during WWII, where he served in a Armored Battalion. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Eaves Cemetery in Gist, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Wilma Eaves, sons Randy and his wife Paula, Larry and Buddy all of Vidor, TX, daughters Kathy of Vidor, TX and Deanna of Kirbyville, TX, 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren and came from a family of 12 brothers and 6 sisters.
