Emmitt C. Van Eman, 80, of Vidor died July 19, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in Elmina, TX, raised in Lufkin and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Emmitt was retired from Gulf States Utilities where he was service foreman and served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Emmitt was a member and a deacon at First Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 22, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Emmitt was preceded in death by his parents CC and Mary Van Eman, sister Margie Ridgeway. He is survived by his wife Emma Lou Van Eman, son Paul Van Eman and his wife Daphne of Lufkin, TX, daughters Janet Van Eman of Ennis, TX, Karen Broyles and her husband K.C. of League City, TX, sister Vivian Page and her husband Billy of Huntington, TX, grandchildren Jennifer Scott and her husband Bob, Clay Van Eman and his wife Britni, Jamie Beesley and her husband Jared, Katie and Kimberly Broyles and 3 great grand daughters.
