Eleanor R. Johnson, 85, of Vidor died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at her home. She was born on March 1, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas to Peter and Sadie Palermo and had been a longtime resident of the area. Eleanor was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. A gathering of family and friend will begin at 6:00 pm and a Christian Vigil at 7:00 pm Monday, October 1, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Eleanor is survived by her husband James Johnson Sr and son, James Johnson Jr and wife Trudy of Beaumont, TX, daughter Pam Schooley and husband Ed of Canyon Lake, TX, as well as 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Joe “Sep” Palermo, brother-in-law Wayne Moye and sister-in-laws Phyllis Johnson and Edna Costello.
