Elbert "Wayne" Bilbo, born on December 15, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2024, in Schertz, Texas. A graduate of Vidor High School, class of 1964, Wayne led a life marked by dedication, service, and an enduring passion for antiques.

Wayne proudly served his country as an Air Traffic Controller in the United States Air Force for 11 years. His time in the military was filled with many fond memories, and he cherished the camaraderie and experiences shared with his fellow servicemen.

Beyond his military service, Wayne had a deep passion for antiquing. He enjoyed the hunt for unique treasures, finding and selling items that had stories of their own. This hobby brought him joy and allowed him to share a piece of history with others, reflecting his appreciation for the past. He also had a great love of animals especially his beloved dogs, Mindy and Abby, that provided him great companionship and comfort in the many years they lived and were with him.

He is survived by his daughter, Effie Tauber, and his granddaughter, Alexandra Tauber, as well as his sister Carolyn Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Elbert Bilbo and Alta Mae Bilbo.

Elbert Wayne Bilbo will be remembered not only for his service to his country but also for his love of family and his engaging spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories for those who knew and loved him.
