Elaine Smith

Elaine Smith "MeMe", 78, of Vidor, TX died Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at her home. A native of Vinton, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed crocheting, working in her garden, especially her rose garden. She was very passionate about cooking and taught her daughters and granddaughters how to cook, she even passed down some of her favorite recipes. Elaine also loved to spend quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Jimmie Smith of 61 years, 2 daughters; Kathy Wright and her husband Glen and Terri Stewart and her husband Steve, Jr all of Vidor. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Dustin Wright, Heather Powell and her husband Justin, Jimmie Wright and his wife Sara all of Vidor, Brent Roye and his wife Stacy of Houston, TX and Brittni Castilaw and her husband Cody, also of Houston, 7 great grandchildren; Cameron, Jaslyn, Kynlee, Noah, Avery, Quinn, and baby Castilaw. She was preceded in death by 1 sister; Gloria LeDoux, 1 brother; Floyd Berry and 1 great grandson; Austin Powell.
