Edwin John Dempkowski

Edwin J. Dempkowski, born August 24, 1923 in Bayonne, NJ., died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at his residence in Vidor at the age of 81. He lived in Vidor for 50 years, and was a retired operator with Mobil Oil. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Vidor VFW post #8246. Funeral services will be Friday, July 8, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith, son Joe and brother Gene. He is survived by his sons Robert Dempkowski of Hemphill, TX., Richard Dempkowski of Newton, TX., and Eddie Dempkowski of Oklahoma City, OK., brothers, Alfred Dempkowski, and Joseph Dempkowski both of Bayonne, NJ., five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
