Ed Stunkard, 74, of Vidor died Friday, February 20, 2015 at his residence. A native of Klondike, Texas, he was a resident of Vidor for the past 9 years. Ed retired from the US Army as an E-7 and served during the Vietnam Conflict where he was awarded 2 Purple Heart Medals and he also retired from the US Postal Service after 40 years. He was a 3 term past commander for the Vidor VFW Post #8246. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm and visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with cremation to follow. Ed is survived by his wife Connie Stephens Stunkard, sons Ronald "Scooter" Edwin Stunkard of Vidor, TX, Edward James Stunkard of Mt. Pleasant, SC, daughters Rebecca Lynn Black of Vidor, TX, and Luana Ramirez of Dekalb, TX, brothers Bob Stunkard of Nacogdoches, TX, Tommy Stuckard of Brownville, TX, Richard Stunkard of Hawaii, sisters Betty Burchell of Cooper, TX, Mary Pemderton of Commerce, TX, Inell Coffman of Farmers Branch, TX, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Shirley Ray Stunkard and Travis "Leon" Stunkard, sister Helen Stunkard.
