E. V. Morton

Edgar Vernon Morton, 77, of Vidor died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Etoile, TX, he lived in Vidor for 50 years. Buddy was a Pipefitter for Local Union #195 and for the past 25 years was an Construction Superintendent for Ford, Bacon and Davis. He served in country in the U.S. Navy and was baptized at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Windy and Veta Morton, 2 sons: Ronnie and Sonny Morton. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Thelma Morton of Vidor, TX, son: Bobby Morton of Vidor, TX, daughters: Connie Bartay of Victoria, TX, Kathy Haines of Carlsburg, NJ, Sheila Morton of Vidor, TX, sister: Thelma Jean Bass of Nederland, TX, 11 grandchildren: Melissa, Heath, Cheri, Paula, Kim, James, Kristina, Mary, Paul, Jason, Shane and 11 great-grandchildren. Buddy met his Lord and savior Jesus Christ December 2001 and was born again and said he wished that he had known the Lord years ago while he was working, so that he could have told everyone that he knew that Jesus was real and how wonderful it was to be saved, now he has that opportunity.
