Dovie Maglean Statum

Dovie M. Statum, 85, of Dayton died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at her residence. A native of Newton, she has lived in Dayton for 6 years, and was a retied custodian after 20 years with Vidor ISD. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her daughters Geraldine Tyra, and Yvonne Bland, and her sister Evelyn Toney. She is survived by her daughters Edith Fay Willis and Bertie Mae George both of Dayton, twenty-one grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
