Dorothy Elizabeth Oliver

Dorothy Elizabeth Oliver, 75, of Fort Worth, TX., retired owner of Bows ‘N Knots Infants and Children’s Boutique, died February 23, 2004 in Arlington, TX. Visitation will begin on Friday, February 27, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX. Dorothy was born June 4, 1928, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Guy “Skip” and Hilda Erwin. She was married to John M. Oliver, Sr. and they made their home in Vidor, Texas for 35 years. John preceded her in death in 1998. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that will be deeply missed. From 1976 to 1985 Dorothy was the owner and operator of Bows ‘N Knots, an infants and children’s boutique in Vidor, Texas. She spent her life in service to Jesus, in support of her husband, and exhibiting great love toward her family and friends. Dorothy was a positive influence on her family and friends and a strong supporter of her church. She was a life-long member of the Vidor Church of Christ until she moved to Fort Worth in 1999, then she became a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington, TX. Dorothy is survived by her son, John M. Oliver, Jr., and his wife Patti of Port Neches, TX., daughter, Susan E. Stephen and her husband Harry of Fort Worth, TX., and son, David C. Oliver and his wife Linda of Argyle, TX., brother, Robert “Butch” Erwin of Humble, TX; and sister, Teddie Rae Gorman of Las Vegas, NV. Grandchildren, Michael Oliver of Leesburg, VA., Sheri Ryan of Waldorf, MD., Anna Keli Oliver of Port Neches, TX., Dr. Matthew Stephen of Temple, TX., Summer Kvalheim of Burleson, TX., Brenden Preston Oliver of Argyle, TX., and several great-grandchildren.
