Doris Ellen Cherry

Doris E. Cherry, 58, of Vidor died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at her residence. A native of Batson, Texas she has lived in Vidor since 1973, and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle in Evadale, with a second service to be held at 2:00 p.m. at Batson United Pentecostal Church in Batson, Texas. Burial services will follow at Guidry Cemetery in Batson, TX. All services will be under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin Monday, June 16, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Jim “Sonny” Cherry. She is survived by her mother Effie Doris Husband of Batson, TX., son, Matt Cherry of Vidor, TX., daughters, Sonja R. Leger of Evadale, TX., and Bren L. Torbert of Vidor, TX., brother, Otis Wayne Fontnow of Batson, TX., sister, Karen Odom of Vidor, TX., eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
