Donald Byron Boone

Donald Byron Boone, 68, of Vidor, TX died Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. A native of New Orleans, LA he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Don enjoyed building and displaying WWII model aircraft, collecting WWII memorabilia and was also a WWII historian. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and will be remembered as a loving and caring person. A memorial service will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Don is survived by 3 brothers; Buddy Boone and his wife Karen of Boutte, LA, Dr. Eugene Boone and his wife Peggy of Vidor, and Christopher Boone, 3 nieces; Dana Boone, Brittney Joyce and Rachel Roberts. He is also survived by 1 nephew; Ryan Boone and 5 great nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; DeHart J. Boone, Sr and Alma Shipp Boone. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Oakwood Manor staff for the love and cared showed to their brother. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
