Delores "Dee" Mae Sanford-Moore, 77, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at her home. A native of Arkansas she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Dee was a school teacher for Vidor Independent School District and was "School Teacher of the Year" several times before retiring after 35 years. She had a passion for children's education with an emphasis on managing dyslexia. Dee enjoyed reading and collecting jewelry and was a member of Grace Community Church in Vidor. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Dee is survived by her son; Ronnie Sanford and his wife Olga of Plano, TX, granddaughter; Anastasia Sanford, 2 sisters; Patricia Shields and Ruth Popp. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Agnes Plunkett, Rosemary Popp, and Edna Petrosky, and 2 brothers; Glen Huling and George Huling. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Dyslexia Association in Dee's name.
