Jack E. Rigby, Sr., 82, died Saturday November 8, 2003 at his residence in Vidor. A native of Bratt, Florida, he lived in Vidor since 1950. Jack retired from Mobil Oil Corp after 31 years as an operator. He proudly served his country while being stationed in the Phillipines during World War II in the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. Jack owned a sewing machine business in Vidor since 1950. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday November 11, 2003 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday November 10, 2003 at the funeral home. Jack is survived by his son: Dempsey “Gene” Eugene Rigby, Jr. Of Austin, TX., daughters: Tula Rigby Wingerson and her husband Tom of Conroe, TX., Ann Rigby Copeland and her husband Marvin of Vidor, TX., Susan Rigby Wingerson of Houston, TX., sisters: Ethel Gibbs of Daphne, AL., Estelle Liles of Oak Grove, FL., Juanita Dortch of Bratt, FL., Shelby Jean Mason of Atmore, AL., grandchildren: Ray Copeland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., Kurtis Copeland of Vidor, TX., Leah Wingerson of Ft. Worth, TX., Jaisun Wingerson of Austin, TX., Corey E. Rigby and his wife Karen of Nederland, TX., Christine Ramirez Boone of Nederland, TX., great-grandchildren: Grace Anne Rigby.
