Delores Jean Whitmire

Delores J. Whitmire, 83 of Evadale died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. Delores was born at Gribble Hospital in Vidor and was a longtime resident of Vidor and Evadale. Delores was a member Evadale Church of Christ, Red Hat Society and the Order of the Eastern Star lodge #914 in Vidor. She enjoyed crafting, seamstress, and sold Sarah Covington Jewelry. She even had her own crafting company, Delores Original's. Delores was very thoughtful of other people, she would remember every one's birthday. She also was a collector of Shirley Temple dolls and tea pots. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 9, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Delores was preceded in death by her daughter Alisa Ann Byerly, father Aubrey Jarrell and mother Lillian Bell. She is survived by her husband of 31 years Jesse Ray "Boots" Whitmire of Evadale, TX, sons James "Slick" Byerly and his wife Anita of Mountain Grove, MO, Jerrell Byerly and his wife Shelly of Vidor, TX, daughter Becky Byerly Lee and her husband James of Vidor, TX, 5 grandchildren Angie Lee Brown, Byron Lee, Jennifer Godwin, Jared Byerly and Ross Byerly, 14 great grandchildren
