David Wilburn Ferguson, 73, passed away on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas. Born in Tyler, TX, David was a longtime resident of Grand Prairie, TX. A retired truck driver, David's life was marked by service and adventure. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. After his military service, he embraced the open road as a truck driver, contributing to the vital transportation industry. David found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Hunting and fishing were not just pastimes for him but a way to connect with nature and find tranquility. Those who knew him best remember David as a great guy—always fun to be around. His warm and friendly nature left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shelia Ferguson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and his son, David "Anthony" Ferguson of Grand Prairie, Texas. His memory lives on through his brothers Johnny Ferguson of Dallas, TX, and Dwain Hanson of Otsego, MI, as well as his sisters Donna Marbut of Joshua, TX, and Paulette Nunes of Mansfield, TX, . He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Abigail Ferguson, and Aurora Everly, both of Bridge Port, TX, Cousin Dolores Bevell and husband Terry Bevell. David Wilburn Ferguson's legacy is one of dedication, service, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to share in his company. May he rest in peace, and may his family find solace in the memories of a life well-lived. David's cremains will be interred at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
