David Venable, 48, of Vidor died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his sons residence. A native of Beaumont, he has lived in Vidor for 30 years, and was a master mechanic with BASF Chemical Plant for 24 years. He was very active as a coach and board member with the Vidor Little League Baseball Association. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Pine Forest Baptist Church of Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. David was preceded in death by his father Richard M. Venable and step-father O.J. Benoit, and his sister Regina Brown. He is survived by his sons Tony Venable and his wife Shahna, and Joshua Venable and his wife Mandi all of Vidor, daughter Lena Shofner and her husband Chad of Silsbee, and two grandchildren Daigan Venable and Blain Shofner, mother Helen Benoit of Groves, brothers Jimmy Venable of Silsbee, Kenny Venable of Vidor, and James Benoit of Seattle, WA., sisters Peggy Adams of Silsbee, Kathy Venable, Jackie French, and Jeannette Ware all of Port Arthur, and Dana Venable of White Settlement, TX.
