David "Dave" Alan Mohr, 74, of Port Neches, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, June 16, 2024. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Dave was a long-time resident of Port Neches and a cherished member of the community.
Dave pursued his education with dedication, earning a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University College of Engineering and a Master's degree from the University of Michigan. His career as a Chemical Engineer spanned many years, during which he retired from Huntsman, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and innovation.
A man of diverse interests, Dave was an enthusiastic participant in square and round dancing, which brought him joy and camaraderie. He also had a passion for landscaping, transforming his surroundings into beautiful, vibrant spaces. A devoted sports fan, he loyally supported the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, celebrating their victories and enduring their defeats with unwavering spirit.
Dave was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Nederland, where he contributed his time and energy to the congregation and found a profound sense of community and faith.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Stephaine Mohr of Port Neches, TX; his son, Mark Mohr, and his wife, Marsha, of Corpus Christi, TX; and his cherished grandchildren, Beckham Mohr, Cael Mohr, Milla Mohr, and Miles Mohr.
Dave's warmth, dedication, and zest for life touched the hearts of many, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
