Darlene Johnson Curtice, 60, died Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 in Beaumont, TX after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A native of Jasper, TX she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Darlene worked for 28 years at the Wal-mart in Vidor and also at Baptist Hospital in Orange as an operator. She liked doing crafts, gardening, and searching geneology but her love was for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with funeral services at 4:00 p.m. Darlene is survived by the love of her life, Mark Cheetham of 18 years, 2 daughters, Joann Harmon and her husband Paul of Orangefield, TX and Amy Engle and her husband Jason also of Orangefield, 2 step-sons, Matthew and Cody Cheetham, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Vera Johnson of Vidor, 2 sisters, Suzy Cain and her husband C.H., and Etta Sowell and her husband John, and 2 nephews, Kirk and Eric Sowell. She was preceded in death by her father, Harlis Johnson and a niece, Jessica Cain.
