Daniel Batice Norris

Daniel B. Norris, 83, of Vidor died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, with his loving family surrounding him at his bedside. A native of Oakdale, LA., he has lived in Vidor for 42 years, and was a retired facility maintenance supervisor with Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital after 30 + years of faithful service. He was a kind, generous and beloved husband, dad, pawpaw, and friend, and he will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew him. He was a faithful member of Maplecrest Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Maplecrest Baptist Church under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents Hastings and Elizabeth Norris, brothers Wayne Norris, and Bill Mayo, and sister Laverne Henry. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Genevieve Norris of Vidor, sons Rusty Morgan and Mina Macias of Houston, Cecil Morgan of Arlington, TX., Danny Norris and his wife Kathleen of Brookshire, TX., and Bruce Norris and his wife Nelda of Vidor, daughters Shelley Watkins and husband Steve of Birmingham, AL., and Cindy Mauer and her husband Don of Friendswood, TX., daughter-in-law Glynda Morgan of Fort Worth, TX., and sister-in-law Eula May Norris of Paradise, TX., 18 grandchildren: Anna Morgan, Kelly Morgan, Kim Ashley, David Morgan, Amy Ruiz, Doug Perkins, Jamie Droddy, Kenny Droddy, Danielle Norris, Patrick Norris, Billy Norris, Danny Norris, Jennifer Norris, Britiany Cargill, Chelsea Broderick, Shea Mauer, and Brandi Matthews, Christopher Brady, and 12 great grandchildren: Amaretta Ashley, Genevieve Ashley Trevor Morgan, Cayden Morgan, Richard Ruiz, Gabriel Ruiz, Paige Norris, Nikki Norris, Morgan Norris, Bailey Norris, Brandon Henderson, and Dalton Henderson.
