Curtis Lee Peet, Jr.

August 30, 1942 — June 9, 2005

Curtis Peet, 62, of Beaumont passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and sons at his bedside, after an eight month battle with cancer, on Thursday, June 9, 2005. Born and raised in Vidor, he was a resident of Beaumont for 26 years, and was a resident of the Golden Triangle for 62 years. He retired from Dyn McDermott Petroleum Co in Winnie, TX., after 18 years of faithful service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. A loving husband and father, he enjoyed travel, antiquing, boats, and trips to the casino. A celebration of life service will be Monday, June 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Leola Peet Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Betsy Castille Peet of Beaumont, sons, Reggie Peet, and Randy Peet both of Vidor, and Josh Christopher and his wife Heather of Seabrook, TX., sisters, Shirley Post, and Patsy Van Winkle, both of Vidor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Rd, Beaumont, TX 77705, and St. David’s School and Church, Moreton-in-Marsh, England, where they had planned to renew their vows. Those donations may be sent to Oak Forest Elementary School, 2400 Hwy 12, Vidor, TX 77662, where they will be assembled and delivered to England. The family appreciates the support of friends, family, co-workers, and any medical staff members that helped with the care of Curtis.
