Cody Ryan Simmons

Cody R. Simmons, 22, of Vidor died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his residence. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Cody graduated from Vidor High School and attended Lamar College in Orange. Cody was a member of Texas Association of Sports (TASO). He assisted in arranging and umpiring the tournaments at Ford Park in Beaumont. He also was an event staff member for Dixie Dance Hall. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 11, 2014 at Turning Point Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 6:00 Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Cody is survived by his mother Karen L. Simmons of Vidor, TX, brother Collis Simmons, Jr of Vidor, TX, Christopher Irwin of Dallas, TX, sisters Stacie Grimes of Lumberton, TX, Jennifer Irwin of Euless, TX, niece Courtney Simmons of Mauriceville, TX, grandparents Don, Jr and Judy MacWillie of Killeen, TX, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He preceded in death by his father Collis Simmons, Sr.
