Clyde Austin Dewitt

Clyde A. DeWitt, 95, of Vidor passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at 8:10 a.m. in Vidor. Clyde was the only son of Freeman and Katrina DeWitt, born June 17, 1919 in Cullen, TX., at 8:00 a.m. He was a retiree of Mobil Oil. Clyde enjoyed fishing and could spend hours talking to anyone that would join in. Clyde was a member of Rose City Baptist Church where he could be found working, before his health prevented it. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and wife Shirley. Surviving him is his son Jerry DeWitt and wife Joyce of Vidor, granddaughter Shelley DeWitt of Vidor, grandson Douglas DeWitt of Vidor, and great grandson Dakota DeWitt also of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home.
