Chester Earl Fowler, 85, of Vidor, TX died Monday, March 12th, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 25th, 1932 in Winters, TX and was a longtime resident of Vidor who enjoyed watching football on T.V., especially the Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Fowler served in the U.S. Army from January 6, 1951 until December 5, 1953. He was wounded in Korea when his tank was destroyed by enemy fire. Mr. Fowler worked for Lear Siegler for many years. Prior to his retirement, his employment provided him the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time in foreign locations. Mr. Fowler spent his remaining life among family and friends in Vidor. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by 2 sisters; Faye Murphy of Abilene, TX and Frankie Jarreau of Vidor, TX. Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his parents; Hilton P. and Irene Boles Fowler, 2 sisters; Louise King of Beaumont, TX and Sarah Hawthorne of Lumberton, TX, and 1 brother; Tommy Fowler of Madill, OK.
