Charles Wayne Chesser

Wayne Chesser, 64, of Vidor went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2008. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and colleague. A lifelong resident of Vidor, he was a retired manager of 30 years with Chevron Chemical and a member of North Main Church of Christ in Vidor. In retirement, Wayne devoted his time to community activities including serving as past President of the Spindletop Rotary Club of Beaumont, Director of the Southeast Texas Soapbox Derby, President of the Beaumont YMCA and proud member of the Beaumont YMBL. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the funeral home. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Judy Chesser, sons Kevin Chesser and his wife Mita of Spring, Ricky Chesser and his wife Amy of Vidor, daughters Michelle Tolar and her husband Cary of Lumberton and Christy Gross and her husband Paul of Austin; brothers Don, James, and Carl; sisters Loretta Byerly, Nora Darden, Ilene Ramsey and Linda Sarver. Grandchildren are Celeste, Grant and Ashlyn Chesser and Michael, Matthew and Carsyn Tolar.
