Charles Dexter Watson, 82, of Vidor died Thursday June 28, 2018 at Vidor Health and Rehab. He was born on August 21, 1935 in Liberty, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Vidor. He retired as Machinist Safety Engineer of Bayer Polysar, in Orange, Texas. His other careers consisted of police officer, firefighter, and emergency medical technician. He was a member at Central Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas. His favorite hobbies were fishing and controlling RC airplanes. Charles was married to Victoria Watson for 63 years and had three children, Charles Robert Watson and his wife Camelia Kay Petitt from Tomball, Texas, Victoria Lynn Watson Parker and her husband Jerry Allen Parker from Vidor, Texas, and Edward Lee Watson and his wife Carla Watson from Vidor, Texas. He had ten grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 2, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Orange, Texas. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Darryl Robert Watson and Georgia June Butler, brother Darryl W. Watson, son David W. Watson and great-grandson Xavier Luke Parker.
