Charles David Barton, 64, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home. A native of Beaumont, he lived in LaBelle for 20 years before moving back to Beaumont. He was a 1969 graduate of South Park High School and attended Lamar University. A carpenter and draftsman by trade, he earned his living designing, building and installing store fixtures for Tri Supply, Seal Manufacturing and Shaffer Manufacturing. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 27 years, Flo Barton; his parents, Floyd and Rose Barton; sisters, Rose Ella Jackson and Dolores Carr; and niece, Cynthia Monroe. He is survived by his daughter, Shawn Bergeron and her husband Darren, of Vidor; his son, Michael Barton, of Beaumont; and daughter, Angel Giles of Runaway Bay, TX; grandsons, Rhett Giles of Alvord, TX; Jeremiah Bergeron, Jonathan Bergeron and Jacob Bergeron, all of Vidor; granddaughters Jessica Giles of Alvord, TX; Rebekah Bergeron and Hannah Bergeron of Vidor; Niece, Belinda Clines and her husband Malcolm, of Lumberton; 1 great-grandson, and 6 great-nieces and –nephews, and his first wife, Fidela Poff. Charles was a family man, and enjoyed family get-togethers, playing his guitar and singing. He was also an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Monday, January 5, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home.
