Cecelia Hoyt

1925-2018

Cecelia LaCombe Hoyt passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on December 17, 2018 at 6:18 in the morning at the age of 93. Cecelia was born April 12, 1925 in Evangeline, LA. Cecelia married the late Simpson Clark Hoyt on March 10, 1984, moved to Vidor, Texas and was a loving and faithful wife until his passing in March of 2000. After her husband's death, Cecelia remained in Vidor, Texas with her caretaker and loving friends, Kathy Lewis and the late Rick Lewis. Kathy and her sister Elaine cared for her faithfully even after medical complications required her to be moved to the Vidor Health and Rehabilitation Center. The family extends their gratitude to the staff there for their kindness and care during her last days. Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Buck) LaCombe and Mary Alodie Cormier LaCombe. Five sisters, Doris d'Augereaux Hoyt, Eva Dehart, Edith LaCombe, Roberta (Bobby) Winn and Mary LaCombe. Four brothers, Orelian LaCombe, Henry LaCombe, J.V. LaCombe and Edward LaCombe. She is survived by one sister, Nellie Leckelt and her husband Melvin of Jennings and two brothers, Clifford LaCombe of Jennings and Robert (Bob) LaCombe as well as a whole host of nieces and nephews. A stepdaughter, Johnnie Reeves and her husband Rev. E.W. Reeves of Opelousas, a stepson, Lonnie Hoyt and his wife Linda of Vidor, Texas. Five step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and five step great great grandchildren. And a wonderful extended church family who loved and cared for her until her transition from this life into her heavenly home. Cecelia will be remembered by many as a prayer warrior and devoted friend. She loved the Word of God, crocheting, hunting, traveling, and had an incredible zest for life. Her family and friends will treasure their time with her and will never forget her kind heart and sweet spirit. Pall bearers: Shelton LaCombe, Dalton LaCombe, Marlin d'Augereaux, Milton d'Augereaux, Byron Reeves and Barry Reeves. The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec 21, 2018 from 10 am until the funeral services which will be held at 1 pm at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, Texas. Officiating will be: Rev. E.W. Reeves, Rev. Matt Tuttle and Rev. Bobby Edwards. Interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
