In Loving Memory of Carol Lynette Mosby Greer
Carol Lynette Mosby Greer, a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Her radiant spirit and kind heart left a profound mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
Lynette to those who loved her, found immense joy in life’s simple pleasures — feeling the sand beneath her feet, listening to the soothing rhythm of ocean waves, and sharing joyful laughter with those she cherished.
A retired chef, Lynette’s talent for creating delicious meals not only nourished the body but also brought people together, forging unforgettable memories. She embraced life fully, celebrating it through a joy in live music, hearty meals, and the fellowship of family and friends.
Lynette possessed a kind and generous soul that overflowed with love. She selflessly gave to others, often putting their needs above her own. Her unwavering belief in her family was the foundation of her life, and she was a pillar of strength and love for those around her. Lynette also had a deep affection for her Chihuahuas — Daisy Mae and Bruiser — who brought her comfort and happiness. As a devoted woman of God, Lynette found peace and guidance through her spirituality.
While these things brought her comfort and joy, Lynette’s greatest pride and the true measure of her character was in love of her family. She was the type of mother typically reserved for fiction — she loved her babies with every fiber of her being and dedicated herself to ensuring they knew not only how much they meant to her, but to the world at large. Lynette’s dedication to both her children and grandchildren is immeasurable. Her legacy will forever be present through them, and they will carry on her spirit and strength, serving as her living legacy.
She is preceded in death by many cherished family members, who have undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms: Roy Kenneth Mosby of Garrison, Texas; Wanda Lee Fain Cook of Vidor, Texas; Brenda Kay Brandon of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Joseph Harl Brown of Gulfport, Mississippi; Carol Berry of Gulfport, Mississippi; and Gladys Webster of Gulfport, Mississippi.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy Greer of Vidor, Texas, and her beloved children: Amberly Jacobs and her husband Richard Byrns of Vidor, Texas; Melissa Jo Brown of Gulfport, Mississippi; Mark Shuttleworth of Houghs Neck, Massachusetts; and Lauren Greer Norton of Georgia. Lynette was a proud and loving grandmother to Cassidy Jones and her husband Jakob Jones, Michael Roy Kenneth Hadley and his fiancée Jasmine Mijares,Lorelai Joelle Watkins, Alyssa Holmes, and Athyn and Axton Norton. Her joy was boundless as she anticipated the arrival of her great-grandson, Slade Greer.
Kirk Mosby, Michael Hadley, Josh Mosby, Michael Wayne Mosby, Jakob Jones, and Willie Chesney will serve as pallbearers.
In honor of Lynette’s wishes, the following songs will be played during her service:
• “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley • “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison • “Lead Me Home” by Jamey Johnson • “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac • “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan • “Unchained Melody” by Righteous Brothers • “Heaven” by Los Lonely Boys
Lynette’s heart was a treasure to many, and her love knew no bounds. Her laughter, warmth, and steadfast support will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. As we celebrate her life, we find comfort in knowing her spirit continues to live on, bringing joy to those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory be a blessing, as she would have wanted us to find happiness and not sorrow in her passing.
