Carlton J. “Cookie” Boden, 84, of Vidor, Texas, son of John Loudice Boden and Victoria Megas Boden, died April 28, 2013. A native of Sabine Pass, Texas, he grew up in Beaumont, Texas, but made his home in Vidor, Texas most of his adult life. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and served his country in Korea and Japan during the Korean conflict. Carlton is survived by his wife Joyce with whom he spent 65 happy years, daughters Kathleen Wagner of Houston, Texas, and Cindy Hussey of Vidor, Texas, brother Donald Boden of Broaddus, Texas, sisters Mabell Busceme and husband Henry of Lumberton, Texas and Betty Ishee of Beaumont, Texas, three grandchildren, Kris Fredericksen and wife Christy of Vidor, Texas, Ashley McNeil and husband Jeremy of Terrell, Texas and Leah Wagner of Houston, Texas, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Earl Boden, Milton Boden, Lionel Boden and Billy Boden; sisters Margaret Bradley, Thelma Rosheger, Joyce Thomas, Hazel Schexenider and Bobbie Lee DeRise. He retired from Texas Gulf Sulphur Company after 35 years of service, and was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home.
