Brenda Gail Brister, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend entered into heavenly rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Brenda was born to John F. Taylor, Sr. and Dorothy Heider Taylor on October 29, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas. She was a graduate of French High School.
Brenda married Rodger Brister in 1963. They would have celebrated their 61st anniversary in September of this year. From that holy union came her greatest pride and joy, her family.
Brenda is survived by her husband Rodger Wayne Brister,Sr., her daughter, Dawn (Paul) Thibault of Vidor, son, Rodger Wayne (Grace) Brister, Jr., of Vidor, son, Brandy (Lequitta) Brister, of Fannett, nephew, Brian (Kelly) Bright of Kountze, whom she loved as a son, and her "little man", John Bright. Her grandchildren, Tracie Bentley of New Hampshire, Terrell (Ashley) Brister, Tara (Andrew) Myers, Tiana Brister, all of Vidor and Katie (Errian) Erb of Beaumont, and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Carolyn Ellis and Johnnie Mondujaro, numerous nieces and nephews, and a score of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John F. Taylor, Sr. and Dorothy Heider Taylor, brothers Dorman Taylor and John F. Taylor, Jr.
Brenda was a manager for Tupperware for 25 years and was known to many in the Golden Triangle simply as "The Tupperware Lady". Not only did this career earn her many awards and accolades professionally but also garnered her countless lifelong friends. Her children recall the enjoyment she experienced while cooking and baking for them. In fact, she loved cooking so much that even in recent years she prepared baked goods and chicken spaghetti for church fundraisers. Church involvement was very important to her and she relished being part of many fundraisers over the years to benefit her church. Somehow, she also found time to sew, as it was an enjoyable hobby that was important in her home.
We could not possibly remember Brenda without mentioning her faith in God, as it was very strong. She loved Jesus more than anything. Many will remember her as their Sunday School teacher or a second mom; a sounding board, source of honesty, and an unchanging beacon in their life.
These memories, as well as those of visits to the lake, game nights, singing to her grandbabies, and so many others are treasures she leaves behind.
