Billy R. Ricks, 84, of Vidor died Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 at his residence. A native of Grand Cane, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Billy served his country in the US Army for 20 years and served in the Korean War and the Vietnam conflict. He was a truck driver for 13 + years after he had retired from the military. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Monday, June 5, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Billy was preceded in death by his wife Shizuko "Sue" Ricks, daughter Shirley Ricks, brothers Bobby, Jackie and Walker Ricks, sisters Mozelle Weghorst and Carnelle Head. He is survived by his sons Billy Ricks Jr. of Vidor, TX, James Ricks of Beaumont, TX, Herbert Ricks and his wife Andrea of Vidor, TX, and John Ricks of Vidor, TX, daughter Denise Groves and her husband Jerry of Vidor, TX, brother Garland Ricks of Huntsville, TX, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
