Billy Joseph Franklin Smith, Sr.

Billy Smith, Sr., 77, of Vidor died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his residence. A native of Palacios, TX., he was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and was a retired truck driver. Billy was a deacon with Old Faith Baptist Church in Vidor. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Old Faith Church under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Old Faith Baptist Church in Vidor. Billy was preceded in death by his first wife Willie Ethel Smith, son Keith Smith, daughters Ethel Bernice, and LaRetha Jo Hemingway. Billy is survived by his wife Beverly Smith, sons Billy Smith, Jr., and William Smith all of Vidor, daughters Alta Okun of Silsbee, and Johnnie Ellen of Vidor, brother Clyde 'Rusty' Smith of Allen, TX., sister Maxine Harper of Colorado Springs, CO., nineteen grandchildren, forty four great grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons.
