Billie quot;Billquot; E. Harland, 76, of Vidor died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Christus St.Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he lived in Vidor for 44 years. Bill retired from Gulf States Utility as a right-of-way agent after 30 years of service . He was a former Orange County Pct.4 County Commissioner for 8 years and was the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Vidor. Bill came out of retirement and retained his previous job as a right-of-way agent for Entergy. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Vidor. Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucy Harland of Vidor; 4 sons: John C. Harland of Stockton, CA; Billie S. Harland, Dwight W. Harland and Tim E. Harland all of Vidor; daughter: Llewllyn J “Cissy” Coleman of Kingwood, TX; 2 sisters: Patsy Weir-McCleskey of Beaumont and Myrna Ray of Boyd, TX; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Bill was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
