Bess Dickson

Bess Dickson, 102, of Humble, TX died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her daughters residence. A native of Waxahachie, TX, she was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Humble. Bess was retired Decorator for Sears and Roebuck. She was a member of First baptist church where she taught Sunday School for 55 years. Bess volunteered at Baptist Hospital for 12 yrs and she a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1954. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 29, 2012 at First Baptist Church on Vidor, with burial to follow at Forestlawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, TX. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Bess was preceded in death by her husband Ara K. Dickson, brother Fred N. Franklin, sisters Pauline Threet and Mildred Moss. She is survived by her daughter Joy Dickson Stokes and husband Bryant of Humble, TX, grandson Kenyard B. Stokes and wife Sarah of Humble, TX, great grandchildren Hannah, Makenna and Sophia.
