Arthur "Art" Lee Landry, 76, of Vidor, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. A native of Lake Charles, LA, Art had been a beloved resident of Vidor for many years. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor. Art dedicated 40 years of his career to the Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked as a foreman of track maintenance. His work ethic and leadership were admired by his colleagues. Prior to his railroad career, Art served his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Art had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying gardening, hunting, and fishing. He loved spending quality time with his family, sharing his love for Cajun music and cooking. His presence and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Mike Landry and his wife Laura of Vidor, TX; Aimee Astor and her husband George of Vidor, TX; Erika Kirkland and her husband Jeff of Orangefield, TX; and Jessika Gaspard of Vidor, TX. Art is also survived by his brothers, C.J. Landry of Lafayette, LA; Lane Landry of Lake Charles, LA; and Kirk Landry of Lake Charles, LA; his sisters, Linda Arsement of Lake Charles, LA; and Dale Taylor of Lake Charles, LA; as well as 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Art was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Landry, and his grandson, Michael Johnson. A man of great character, love, and dedication, Art Lee Landry's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
