A.L. Rash, 81, of Lumberton died Monday September 22, 2003 at his residence in Lumberton. A native of Hemphill, TX., he lived in Lumberton for 43 years. A.L. is retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 31 years as a cable repair man. He was a member of the Pioneer Club with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and the Insulator Club. A.L. served his country in the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday September 26, 2003 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday September 25, 2003 at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife Joyce Rash of Lumberton, TX., son: Dwight Rash and his wife Mary of Lumberton, TX., brothers: Dewey Rash of San Antonio, TX., Andrew Rash of Houma, LA., sisters: Madalin Poteet of Tomball, TX., Ora Mae Beard of Broaddus, TX., grandchildren: Stephanie Rawlinson, and Chad Rash both of Beaumont, TX., great-grandchild: Chasity Rash.
