Otis “Buster” Shirley, passed away on Monday, October 23rd, 2023, at the age of 89. He spent his final days at Vidor Health and Rehab, in Vidor, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Buster Shirley was born in Duck Hill, Mississippi, and later became a cherished resident of Vidor, Texas. Buster was a deacon for Pine Forest Church. He had a long and successful career as a Pipeline Foreman at Winnie Welding Works. Buster also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a passionate gardener. His green thumb and love for tending to his garden brought beauty and joy to those around him. Buster Shirley is survived by his loving sons Brad Shirley of Milam, Texas, and his wife Donna, Steve Shirley of Broaddus, Texas, and his friend Becky, David Shirley of Vidor, Texas, and his wife Amy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Betty Shirley, of Vaiden, Mississippi, and 12 cherished grandchildren: Brandy Ousley, John Brandon Shirley, Danielle Shirley, Angela Sowell, April Buffalow, Alisa Standley, Erik Cozart, James Laramore, Shannon Shirley, Tommy Shirley, Bethani Rizzotto, and Joseph Duncan. Additionally, he leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren, a testament to the love and legacy he leaves behind. Buster was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Shirley, his daughter, Cynthia Shirley and his 2nd wife Ethel Shirley. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Buster Shirley's legacy of hard work, dedication, and the joy he found in tending to his garden will live on through the family he leaves behind. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
