Michael "Mike" Ray Williams, aged 73, a cherished resident of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at Vidor Health and Rehab, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and fond memories. Born in Carthage, Texas, Mike was a beloved member of the Vidor community for many years.
A man of faith, Mike was an member of the Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, where his kindness and devotion to his community shone brightly. Professionally, Mike dedicated 34 years of his life as a skilled Outside Machinist for Mobil Oil, later Exxon Mobil Oil, demonstrating his commitment and expertise in his field.
Beyond his professional life, Mike found joy and solace in various hobbies. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished moments spent hunting and fishing, finding peace in the serenity of nature. Additionally, his passion for woodworking and gardening allowed him to create beauty with his hands and nurture life from the earth.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Charlene Williams, a steadfast companion through life's journey. He is also survived by his sons, Jason Williams and wife Candy of Kirbyville, TX, and Matthew Williams and wife Jennifer of Vidor, TX, who carry forward his values and spirit.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Alice Williams, as well as his brothers, Robert Williams and Butch Williams with wife Brenda, all of Vidor, TX. Mike's memory will also be cherished by his 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his numerous nieces and nephews, who were sources of endless joy and pride for him.
In remembrance, Mike is reunited with his father, Byron Henderson Williams, his brother Kenneth Williams, and his sister Glenda Cooper, who preceded him in death. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering love, Mike touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the rich tapestry of his life and the enduring impact he made on those around him.
