Herbert Max Bickerton, 87, referred to as Max by friends and family, was born on October 28, 1935 in Parrish, Alabama. On March 8, 2023, Max Passed away at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, surrounded by family and friends that loved him dearly. He moved to Beaumont, TX in 1954 and married his wife of 68 years , Marjorie Robertson shortly after. Max worked at Texas Metal Works for 30 years. He and Jim Walters co-founded Western of Texas in 1984. In 2000, he and Chester Sanquin co-founded American Thermowell. Max had many friends in the industry and was highly liked and respected by everyone he met. he finally retired in 2006 after years of hard work. in 2001, he became an ordained deacon at Maplecrest Baptist Church of Vidor, TX. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Bickerton, sisters Sue Small and Midge Rayburn, sons David Bickerton and Robert Bickerton, granddaughter Alexandra Bickerton and Elizabeth Harmon. He is preceded in death by brother Ray Bickerton and son Larry Bickerton. he was a kind hearted and caring man that will be missed by all who knew him. Services for Max will begin with a visitation on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Maplecrest Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Maplecrest Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.
