Frances Kluttz slept in the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2004 at the age of 84. She was born Frances Virginia Pevey on June 11, 1920 to Ruth Commander and Wade Hampton Pevey in Forest, MS. Frances was raised in the Gulfport, MS area and graduated from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. She taught biology to high school students in Moss Point, MS where she met Henry Arthur Kluttz. They were married on October 19, 1944 and they are survived by three children: Carol Louise Kluttz Otterstad, Marvin Henry Kluttz, and Mary Lynnette Kluttz Dimataris and three grandchildren: Kevin Michael Otterstad, Peter Lawrence Otterstad and Katherine Amanda Dimataris. Frances was active at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Beaumont for over 35 years, especially in the Martha Circle, and Church Women United. She had also been active in the Texas State Parliamentarian Association. She loved life and the beauty of the creation in which she lived. Although she lived in Vidor and Beaumont for many years, she had most recently lived briefly in Brenham and Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2004 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Beaumont, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home.
