Eva McCormick Smith, 81, a beloved resident of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Eva was a cherished member of the community, known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her faith.

As a longtime resident of Vidor, Eva was deeply ingrained in the fabric of the community. She was a cornerstone member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church, where her faith was a guiding light in her life.

Eva found joy in the simple pleasures of homemaking, and she excelled in various hobbies, including quilting, cooking, and seamstress work. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, where she nurtured an array of vibrant flowers. Eva's passion for gardening reflected her love for life and her nurturing spirit.

Above all else, Eva cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her family-oriented nature and her warm, welcoming presence. Eva's love knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones.

An adventurous soul, Eva had a passion for travel and often embarked on spontaneous trips, creating cherished memories along the way.

Eva is survived by her three sons: Karl Wayne Smith and wife Billie Rose Smith of Spurger, Texas; John Eddie Smith and wife Karen Lynn Smith of Hemphill, TX; and Gilbert Lee Smith and wife Patricia Smith of Vidor, TX. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Culp of Claremore, OK.

Eva will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Natalie, Valerie, Hillary, Keegan, Keelie, Billy, Brooke, and Beaux, as well as her great-grandchildren: Jacelyn, Hayden, Brenden, Jansen, Madelyn, Macy, and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doye Wayne Smith, her parents Dalton McCormick and Olli Jean Hagner, and her siblings: Floyd Earl Biscamp, Julie Ann Petrie, Thomas Biscamp, Wendell Leon Biscamp, and Ronald McCormick. Eva was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Nellean Dorchuck.

Eva McCormick Smith will be remembered fondly for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her love for her family. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
