Delbert Welch Cotton

July 21, 1924 — March 4, 2012

Delbert W. Cotton, 87, of Vidor died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Orange, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and was a welder for 32 years with Gulf Oil. Delbert served his country in the United Army during WWII. Delbert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Delbert is survived by his wife of 65 years Thelma Rector Cotton, son Gene Cotton and wife Mary, daughter Sheila Cotton Womack all of Vidor, four grandchildren: Kennon Cotton and his wife Edan of Georgetown, TX., Keegan Cotton and wife Gyorgyi of Budapest, Hungry, Blake Womack and Jeremy Womack both of Vidor, and five great grandchildren: Adelynne Cotton, Belian Cotton, Cora Lee Cotton, Lincoln Cotton, and Laura Mae “Kate” Cotton.
