Please join us as we mourn the loss of Cody Carter, born March 27, 1990, in Vidor Texas, who went to be with the Lord, on August 16th, 2018, after a tragic work accident. Cody was a loving husband, devoted father, proud son, and top-notch brother.
Cody was a hard working man, and was a member of the ILA local 28 union. He would spend his days working hard for his family, yet always found time to enjoy the best of life. Cody loved fishing, hunting, spending time with the ones he loved, and pretty much any other excuse he could find to get dirty. Cody took fashion cues from no one. His signature every day look, was a T-shirt, pair of jeans, and some worn out cowboy boots. He had a life-long love affair with pizza and fried jalapeno poppers. He loved his mother and father and found special joy in torturing his brothers and sisters, who were always quick to give it right back to him.
Cody was honored to have served in the US Military for six years, and was a proud graduate of the Alvin Police Academy. Cody loved his country, and was proud to serve others in any way that he could. Cody was the type of man who would give you the shirt off of his back, and his last dollar if you needed it. He once spent hours in a Walmart parking lot, determined to fix a stranded mother’s car. Thankfully both Cody and the stranded mother were able to drive away safely.
He married his main squeeze, Melissa Carter, five years ago next month, with whom they had two children together, Colton and Peyton, and shared in parenting their seven other children, Hunter, Michael, Evan, Tyler, Riley, Madison and Warren. He took great pride in having new adventures with all of his children, and in teaching them important life lessons, especially how to bait a fishing hook right. He loved being a father, and that showed through in everything he did.
Services will be held Saturday, August 25th, 2018, at Turning Point Church, 3600 North Main Street, Vidor, TX 77662, at 11:00am.
Finally, in Cody’s honor, the family asks that all who love and celebrate Cody, would join us to say goodbye, in a truly “Cody” like fashion.
