Charles Llewellyn Empey

Charles Llewellyn Empey, 76, of Orange, Texas entered into rest on July 11, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. He was pastor of Cove Baptist Church in Orange, and formerly served as pastor at Crestview Baptist Church in Lamesa, TX. Ministry and evangelism were his love and passion. Charles enjoyed his free time with his family, playing cards and dominoes. His other hobbies included golfing and fishing. He truly loved people, and loved his cats Zoe and Lily.
Charles is survived by his wife of 15 years, Joan Empey. He is also survived by his daughters: Lisa Howard and husband Darrell of Washington, IL; Christina Hanna and husband Clayton of Lumberton, TX; and Susan Gay and husband Michael of Beaumont, TX; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his brother Andrew Empey and wife Jan of Canton, IL. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Arrington and William Arrington.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation at Cove Baptist Church on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral will be held at Cove Baptist Church Saturday July 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery, south of Livingston, Texas.
